Joyful Learning

Embracing the joy of learning through books

With the help of Teacher Everywhere™ volunteers, Joyful Learning aims to inspire children to embrace learning with a carefully curated range of classic and contemporary children’s books.

IMG

WHY JOYFUL LEARNING?

Stories make a big impact

Children learn easily through storytelling as stories are fun and easy to remember.

It helps them develop and organise their thoughts by making a connection between what they experience in books and the world around them.

By engaging children with stories, we can teach them to enjoy reading and learn happily from a young age.

IMG
IMG
IMG

WHO WE IMPACT

Focusing on the formative years

Designed for children between 3 - 6 years old, Joyful Learning aims to help them find enjoyment and wonder in reading books when it matters most.

Aside from these children, their parents and caregivers are also equipped with practical tips to help bring their learnings home.

ECF Pre-school Bursary

Getting vulnerable children ready for pre-school

Children from low-income families will be able to attend pre-school with access to learning materials and financial aid under a bursary scheme.

img
IMG

WHY ECF PRE-SCHOOL BURSARY?

The foundation of children’s life-long learning

Pre-school is the beginning of children’s learning journey where they develop social, emotional and physical skills.

A good start to their journey will have a positive impact on their life-long learning and overall development.

Children from low-income families deserve the support they need to enrol in pre-school so that they can lay the foundation for future success.

IMG
IMG
IMG

WHO WE IMPACT

Preparing children for a great start to pre-school

The ECF Pre-school Bursary was introduced to assist pre-school children from low-income families, including those who enrol in other pre-schools such as PCF Sparkletots, so that they may have a better start on their learning journey. We have helped a total of 22 vulnerable children benefit from the bursary scheme.

ECF Enrichment Sponsorship

Supporting the holistic development of children

Children from low-income families are encouraged to enrol for enrichment classes through this sponsorship programme and continue growing alongside their peers.

img
IMG

WHY ECF ENRICHMENT SPONSORSHIP?

A new way of learning for children

Apart from sparking new interests and stimulating the mind, enrichment classes such as art and music also help to develop creativity, cognitive and social skills.

However, not all families have the means to send their children for enrichment classes.

Children from low-income families need additional support to enrol in enrichment classes so that they can keep up with their peers.

IMG
IMG
IMG

WHO WE IMPACT

Enriching the lives of vulnerable children

The ECF Enrichment Sponsorship was introduced so that pre-school children from low-income families may join their peers in enrichment classes. We have helped a total of 377 vulnerable children benefit from the sponsorship programme.

CDA Top-Ups

Supporting the development and learning of children

In a partnership with the government, we disburse funds into the Child Development Accounts (CDAs) of vulnerable children to best support their early learning and overall development

img
IMG

WHY CDA TOP-UPS?

Lightening the costs of raising children

Pre-school plays a critical role in laying the foundation for children’s growth, yet some families impacted by economic uncertainty and job losses can’t afford pre-school, even with government aid.

By making an initial deposit into children’s CDAs, we help them lighten financial expenses such as pre-school fees and medical bills at Baby Bonus Approved Institutions.

It also enables children to benefit from the government’s dollar-for-dollar matching contribution, thereby doubling the number of financial aid available to them.

IMG
IMG
IMG

WHO WE IMPACT

Providing financial aid to vulnerable children

In 2020, we partnered with MOE and Community Foundation of Singapore (CFS) on a CDA Top-Up programme. We reached out to 14 times more beneficiaries than the previous year, benefiting about 1,300 pre-schoolers from low-income families.

This initiative is facilitated by the Uplifting Pupils in Life and Inspiring Families Taskforce (UPLIFT), an inter-agency taskforce. Eligible children whose families have a gross monthly household income of S$4,500 or less, will receive S$250 top-up to their CDAs each year for up to three years, as well as Additional Subsidy for their pre-school fees as of July 2020.

Box of Joy

Spreading the joy of the festive season

The annual Christmas gift drive allows us to deliver the joy of the festive season to vulnerable children in the community.

img
IMG

WHY BOX OF JOY?

Gifts could transform lives

During the festive season, your gifts can bring joy to children who may otherwise have nothing under their tree.

Giving and sharing, especially during the holiday, can also help children through their troubled times, and make them feel seen and cared for by the bigger community.

IMG
IMG
IMG

WHO WE IMPACT

Extending love to vulnerable children

The gifts you donate are distributed to disadvantaged children in the community, in an effort to celebrate the holiday together and make each child a happier one. In 2020, we reached out to 13 organisations to distribute donated gifts to infants and children up to age 13.
